History of my chosen video game characters. 1970's/1980's

1970's /1980's

Release date: February 197o's/1980's

Game Title: Duck Hunt/Laser clay shooting system

Developer: Nintendo

Format: Arcade
Today Format: Wii

Duck Hunt was Nintendo's first step towards video game development. The developer was Gunpei Yokoi who was hired in 1965 by the company president Hiroshi Yamauchi. The game  "Duck Hunt" was based on a 1976 electronic toy version that was named "Beam Gun: Duck Hunt"  This was part of the Beam Gun series. The toy version was designed by Gunpei Yokoi and Masayuki Uemura for Nintendo.
I chose this game from the 1970's/1980's as I remember playing this game when I was very young on a NES in the 1990's. In this classic arcade game there are two characters, the main character is a dog and the second characters are the ducks that you fire at in the game. There is not a name for the dog in this game, but it is known that people call him the "Hunting dog" or even the "Laughing dog". The first time you see the dog is when you begin your first game, he can been seen sniffing the ground at the front and then he jumps and disappears into the overgrown grass. When you shoot a duck the dog pops up from the grass with the dead duck in his hand. It is known that the dog is not a well liked character, some people tend to hate him or love him. The dog and duck make a appearance in the Nintendo Smash Bro for the 3DS and Nintendo's Wii U that was released in 2014, you can unlocked the characters together the further you progress in the game.

(Duck hunt, beam gun set from the 1970's, this is what gave Nintendo the idea of the pixel game.)

(The pixel characters in the 1970's)

(And this is what the characters look like today, They seem to be friendly toward each other. I believe this was intended as a new younger audience will be enjoying the characters from the new Smash bros game.)
